Uist Council of Voluntary Organisations (UCVO)

UCVO provides a single point of access for support and advice for the third sector in the area and represent the third sector with clear links to Community Planning Partnerships.

UCVO is a partner in Third Sector Interface (TSI) Western Isles, which is funded by Scottish Government as part of a Scotland wide network of 32 Third Sector Interfaces to support development of volunteering, social enterprise, building a strong third sector and building the third sector relationship with community planning.

Established in 2005, our aims are to develop and promote volunteering for all, improve volunteering opportunities, remove barriers to participation and to monitor the success of volunteering for the Scottish Government.

We work in partnership with many volunteer-involving organisations and projects, to promote good practice, recruit and place volunteers and to raise the awareness of the importance of volunteering.

We are also active members of the Borders Third Sector Partnership along with The Bridge, Berwickshire Association for Voluntary Service and the Scottish Borders Social Enterprise Chamber.
